Your Voice Matters! Take Part in the Roots & Routes Youth Survey | 4/11/2026

Whose stories do we remember? And whose stories are missing?
History shapes how we understand our communities, identities and the world around us. Yet, not everyone’s experiences and histories are equally represented in the way we learn about and remember the past.
Through the European project Roots & Routes – Youth Archiving Europe’s Migration Memories, we want to explore how young people understand historical memory, migration and cultural diversity, and how different communities and their histories are represented across Europe.
We want to hear from you!
Are you between 18 and 30 years old? We invite you to take part in our short, anonymous survey and share your perspectives.
The survey explores young people’s awareness of migration histories and other often underrepresented experiences, including those of Roma communities, People of African Descent and LGBTIQ+ communities. It also looks at how these histories are represented in education and public spaces, and how young people would like to engage with Europe’s diverse histories.
You don’t need any specific knowledge or experience to participate. We’re interested in your views!
Why participate?
Your answers will help the Roots & Routes partnership better understand young people’s perspectives, identify gaps in historical representation and explore their interests and needs.
The findings will contribute to the development of future educational, cultural and participatory activities within the project, encouraging more inclusive ways of exploring and sharing Europe’s diverse histories.
Take the survey!
If you are aged 18–30, you can complete the anonymous online survey in approximately 10 minutes.
