The STEMAzing Women project addressed young people’s empowerment and employability, having as a target group marginalized young women (18-25), who experienced the benefits of learning and using STEM-as-a-life-skill. The STEMAzing Women project promoted youth employability and gender equality, further contributing to the labor market and social inclusion. This project aspired not only to boost the employability of the young women in danger of marginalization, but also to assist them in breaking the vicious cycle of poverty and the persisting stereotypical societal roles which regarded STEM as a mainly male dominated work sector.

The main goal of the STEMAzing project was to empower youth and promote employability, which was crucial for the future of the European Union. This way, STEMAzing focused on young women from disadvantaged groups and employed STEM as a life skill with a set of clearly defined objectives, such as:

  • O1: Empowered socially excluded young women through STEM as a life skill
  • O2: Increased their chances of employability
  • O3: Created agents of change
  • O4: Produced a replicable and sustainable model to ensure gender equality and youth employability
