The EMPLOY ME project aimed to develop a new, innovative form of training content designed to empower unemployed young second-generation migrants to develop, enhance, and improve their employability skills and competences. The ultimate goal was to increase their competitiveness in the labor market and support their successful integration into local societies, turning them into valuable assets for both their communities and local economies.
EMPLOY ME also aimed to reinforce the European agenda for the social inclusion of migrants by promoting access to education and, primarily, employment.
This contributed to economic growth, job creation, and the development of new skills across Europe, helping to reduce existing economic and social disparities.
The project achieved the following concrete results and learning outcomes during and after its implementation:
- Improved and upgraded employability skills and competences among young unemployed second-generation migrants;
- Enhanced opportunities for the social inclusion and employability of young second-generation migrants;
- An increased number of cross-community and social inclusion initiatives, as the project promoted diversity by recruiting participants from different backgrounds and with fewer opportunities;
- Strengthened capacity of youth workers, NGOs, and other organizations working with young migrants to support the development of their employability skills and competences;
- Improved quality of educational programs and other initiatives aimed at enhancing learners’ employability skills;
- Effective capitalization on the potential and benefits of integrating young second-generation migrants into the workforce;
- Contribution to local socio-economic policy goals by emphasizing the importance of supporting disadvantaged youth and those at risk of marginalization in accessing high-quality enterprise advice and support services.
