DRM DRAME
The Disaster Risk Management Framework (DRM FRAME) project (No. 2023-1-EL01-KA220-VET-000162006) is a groundbreaking initiative addressing the critical need for comprehensive tools in civil protection and resilience. By focusing on enhancing the skills and capacities of professionals in disaster management, the project also aims to foster local development opportunities while responding to the growing challenges of natural disasters.
Natural disasters pose significant threats to communities and infrastructure, underscoring the importance of robust civil protection strategies. The DRM FRAME project offers effective, innovative solutions to enhance preparedness, response, and recovery measures. By investing in vocational education and training (VET) and leveraging scientific expertise from higher education institutions (HEIs), the project adopts a holistic, evidence-based approach to disaster risk reduction.
Central to the initiative is the creation of an interactive multilingual platform, which will include:
- An e-learning space: Featuring a training curriculum supported by a web-GIS platform for visualizing scenario evolutions in areas of interest.
- A double assessment tool: Customizing training paths and evaluating acquired skills for tailored professional growth.
Communication and networking features: Enabling collaboration and knowledge exchange among users across sectors and regions.
The project’s outcomes align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. By contributing to the development of sustainable, disaster-resilient communities, the DRM FRAME project advances global efforts toward achieving resilience and sustainability.
